E27: Exiles, Cool Posters, and Funerary Rites…What’s not to like?

Episode 27 allows Mauser to spend a little time idolizing the genius that is Melina Marchetta and her new title Froi of the Exiles, the second book in the Lumatare Chronicles (Finnikin of the Rock was the first.).  McElroy offers up 75 Years of Children’s Book Week Posters: Celebrating Great Illustrators of American Children’s Books, and we spend a few minutes contemplating the possibility of purchasing multiple copies to satisfy our urge to frame the artwork for selfish decorating intent.  Hauser waxes poetic about what she’s learned about archaeology, corpses, skeletons, mummies, and  funerary rites from National Geographic’s Bury the Dead: Tombs, Corpses, Mummies, Skeletons, & Rituals, by Christopher Sloan, and apologizes to those who might be in the process of eating during this cast.  We end with a look at a few clever programming ideas for school libraries and plans for stealing each other’s great ideas for use in our own libraries.
