E52: Swirls, Truth, and Spells

In this episode, McElroy introduces us to Joyce Sidman’s Swirl by Swirl: Spirals in Nature, yet another beautiful picture book that merges poetry, nonfiction, and lovely illustrations.  Hauser reviews another fun read from NetGalley: Spellbinding, by Maya Gold, and Mauser jumps the gun a bit with an early review of a unique title, All the Truth That’s in Me, by Julie Berry, coming to us in the early fall .  We round out the episode with yet another lament about the lack of diversity in covers and young adult literature, and we give a virtual group hug for Austin author Varian Johnson.

Correction: In this episode, we mistakenly refer to Maureen Johnson’s diversity challenge for book covers as Cover Switch.  The correct title is Cover Flip.
